Egg flan with Caramel Topping. (Crème caramel).
Ingredients for egg flan.
- 4 medium eggs.
- 1 can of condensed milk 397g.
- 1 can of evaporated milk 410g.
- 1 tsp. Vanilla extract.
Ingredients for caramel.
- 3/4 cup white sugar.
- 1/4 cup water.
Method.
Caramel.
Combine sugar and water in a pan and caramelise on medium heat, stirring not allowing the sugar to burn.
Then pour caramel into your flan dish.
For the egg flan.
Mix the ingredients for the egg flan in a bowl, combining well. When thoroughly mixed Pour over the top of the cooled caramel in the flan dish.
Place flan dish in another pan so that it is sitting in an inch of water. To poach.
Cover the flan dish with aluminium, then place in your oven for 50-60 minutes. 180c.
When cooked allow to cool and tip out onto your serving plate.
